Devoted Wife and Mother…
Kim has been married for nearly 22 years to her best friend, Rob. Although they met in Maryland, Rob and Kim intentionally moved to Hampton Roads in 2005, establishing permanent roots in the Chuckatuck Borough of Suffolk in 2015. Together they have had the joy of raising eleven children, including six foster children. As a mom, Kim recognizes that parents possess both a right and a responsibility to participate in the educational decisions of their children, and as such, their voices should not be silenced.
Experienced Businesswoman…
Having received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Central Florida, Kim brings a strong, diversified background in business to the Suffolk Public School System. Her experience working in banking, marketing and account management, coupled with excellent communication and leadership skills enable Kim to clearly cast PURPOSE, confidently execute POLICIES, and to consistently value PEOPLE. She is eager to put her skills to work for our community’s parents and children!
Seasoned Educator…
When Rob and Kim's oldest child reached school age, concerns about safety and the low academic standards of the public school system motivated them to evaluate the educational options available to their children. After prayerful consideration they chose to do what they believed would be best for their children, and Kim began educating at home. This journey enabled her to provide their children with proven, hand selected curriculum and tailored teaching methods in a safe environment which allowed their children to freely cultivate a love for learning.
Today, the same concerns regarding the safety and low academic standards of the public school system have motivated Kim once again! This time, on behalf of our community’s children, she is inspired to bring positive change to Suffolk Public Schools. She firmly believes that ALL CHILDREN deserve to receive exceptional academic instruction in a safe learning environment which enables them to learn, grow and mature into well rounded citizens who will not only give back to society, but also serve as the very foundation of our community for years to come.
Proven Administrator…
Kim has walked hand-in-hand with hundreds of parents and children, assisting in navigating the road from preschool thru high school. She directed a thriving homeschool community where she served alongside dozens of tutors, managed logistics, established policies, and facilitated learning. Intentionally, Kim assembled a team of tutors who assisted in cultivating a superlative learning environment while incorporating an outstanding curriculum to provide excellence in education for the next generation.
